Los Lajares Artisan Market has been taking place every Saturday for more than 10 years in the delightful main square of Lajares, in the north of Fuerteventura.
This lovely market features creative handicrafts such as leather goods, wood carvings, paintings, pictures, clothing, ceramics and jewellery. All products are unique handicrafts made in Fuerteventura and sold by local artisans.
The market was created because the artisans needed a space where they could show and sell their products, and it is managed by them autonomously through the association Re-lajarte. An essential requirement to join the association is for artisans to sell their own handcrafted products and to make them in Fuerteventura.
So, every Saturday morning, Lajares is a must-see in Fuerteventura, both for tourists and the local community. The market not only showcases quality products of great beauty, but brings good vibes in town too.
Activities for children are usually organized and live music is always on. This artisan market is a locally renowned venue that offers an enjoyable shopping experience with quality, lovely handicrafts.
