ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE
If you had ?86,400 and someone stole ?10, you wouldn?t invest the remaining ?83,390 wreaking vengeance, would you?
by Elena H. Ghazale / Executive Coach
There are 86,400 seconds in a day and sometimes even just 10 of them can ruin our whole day? at times even our week (that would be 604,800 seconds). Do you know what I?m talking about?
Our human nature makes us vulnerable and this helps us connect with other living creatures. Sometimes, being so vulnerable can also become hell and make us face some inner battles that sabotage all our intentions.
When this happens, I feel lonely, misunderstood, and willing to give up. Moreover, in those moments I always try to find someone to blame, I fight more than usual and then, of course, I regret it all? And why do I do so? Because I could not handle those 10 seconds.
But don?t worry because in this month?s issue of Macaronesia, I would like to make a very special gift to you. It?s December now, and Christmas is coming with its baggage of wishes for new and better things.
So, if sometimes you find yourself in a loop, struggling for something that didn?t last that long? here I give you an SOS technique that will help you stop that negative moment and start living your day as you wish.
Here you have your gift:
Now, imagine you?ve just argued with a colleague and you keep on thinking about their hostile and pointless comment.
You?re at home and keep talking about what happened so much that you even get tired of yourself. What do you do?
When you first realize this is happening, follow these 4 steps I?m giving you now. They?re quite simple, but very effective.
STEPS
1st step Stop and block the negative message before it comes into your mind.
Stop it, stop it, stop it!
2nd step Breathe deeply and focus on your breathing. 1-4-2
3rd step Think about the real problem
4th step Choose the best option for you
I hope this exercise helps you as it does with me.
For any doubt or question you may have, do not hesitate to get in touch with me at info@trans-coaching.com.
And if you wish to make a gift of self-improvement for Christmas, take advantage of the great offer you?ll find in the libraries and gift Una Cita Contigo. This month you can have it with a matching notebook for you to draw your own 2020!
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love, Elena
