In this fifth edition of Fuerteventura SUP Challenge all the athletes gave their best in every category to become winners, offering a great show to the attendants with beautiful competitions that highlight the good period of this discipline in the archipelago.

A wonderful weekend where we could see the best Spanish and international athletes in the best conditions that can be remembered in an event of such characteristics and that just an island like Fuerteventura can offer in this season of the year.
It all started last Friday, with the event of SUP Waves, where Majanicho Beach delighted all the participants and attendants, making it an unforgettable day.
On Saturday morning the technical Sup Race took place, also in Majanicho, an spectacular circuit where we could experience a fascinating race, in a way that left everybody flabbergasted, because of its magnificence.
The very Saturday afternoon they moved to Corralejo Viejo beach to witness the 200m event, where all the paddlers showed their speed in under one minute events.
Long distance events took place on Sunday, from Lobos Island to Corralejo Viejo beach, an exceptional journey, taking advantage of the good conditions of the wind and the waves, which made this race a challenge for all the participants: 13 kms in less than 1h30?.
After this, it took place the long distance race by the youngest, where we witnessed how the Club Onexe team was absolutely dominating, together with other Spanish paddlers who took part in this event.
Finally, we enjoyed the popular race, where all the not federated athletes had the chance to show us their skills on a SUP board by taking part in this event.
Moreover, during this competition, Corralejo visitors attending the event could enjoy a spectacular environment where Drysurf and Longboard Skate sessions also took place.
The final touch of this event was the pros? race, which is having more and more expentancy and testes the team work of paddlers. It consists of several teams of six people on an inflatable SUP board departing at the same time to make a turning manoeuvre, some 80m far from the coast and return. Lots of fun and team work.
With this fifth edition of Fuerteventura SUP Challenge we verified how this championship is an essential event in the national circuit, apart from crowning Fuerteventura as a benchmark for Spanish, European and international SUP because of the excellent conditions the Island offers for this sport.
Moreover, the Onexe Club also becomes a benchmark for national SUP, not just because of its competitive level but also for its high level of human development, being able to carry out another event with the highest level of participation, competition and cooperation.

Fuerteventura Sup Challenge, organized by the Onexe Club, also coordinated with the Spanish and Canary Surf Federation and sponsored by Startboard, Naviera Armas and Secreto del Sur, had the invaluable support by La Oliva Town council, Fuerteventura island Council and the cooperation by Billabong Surf House, Dry Surf, Long Board Skate Famara, Paradise, Clean Ocean Project, Mar Adentro and Coca Cola. This is a valid event for the National circuit of SUP Surf & Race of the Spanish Cup and the Canary Island circuit of Surfing 2017.
