Casa Mané is much more than an art centre. It’s an enriching cultural offer, located in a historic place, offering a relaxing environment with different spaces to enjoy a magnificent pictorial and sculptural work.
An amazing space dedicated to art in a unique enclave
Casa Mané was founded in 1991 by Manuel Delgado Camino (Mané), creator, artist and gallery owner who managed to exhibit paintings, sculptures and works of art in general – of the artistic culture of The Canary Island- in the different rooms and spaces of this centre.
The soil and house where this centre is located was the estate of a doctor’s family, that of one of the popular colonels in La Oliva, Cristóbal Manrique de Lara. Mané acquired this house in 1989 and started to refurbish it from its foundations due to its poor state, but keeping its essence and taking meticulous care of the environment. Thus, in its typical Canarian gardens, walls and different rooms, this space devoted to art was created: the centre of Canarian Art- Casa Mané.
At present, and already for 9 years, his daughter, Belinda Delgado, and grand-dauthter, Belinda Sánchez, are the ones who are totally devoted to art, offering permanent exhibitions in its different rooms, arranging events and promoting the culture of La Oliva and Fuerteventura in general with their cultural offer.
Casa Mané houses, nowadays, exhibitions of the private collection by the founder and temporal exhibitions by artists in The Canary Islands and international artists alike, displaying works by well-known and new artists. It has four exhibition rooms on the first floor, and a little store with works of art, ceramics and other pieces on the ground floor. It also has a look-out basement gallery that can’t leave anyone indifferent. All this, surrounded by gardens where the Canarian flora and sculptures fuse and create a spectacular space.
Casa Mané is a must visit place to get to know the history of Fuerteventura in the well-known Ruta de los Coroneles in La Oliva, which allows you to enjoy the five houses it consists of: Casa de la Cilla, Iglesia de la Candelaria, Casa de los Coroneles, Centro de Arte Casa Mané and El Mercado de las Tradiciones. Moreover, on Fridays they offer a performance in this route so you can submerge in the splendour of La Oliva every year.
